12 Days of Christmas - Day 3: Teen/College Girl Gifts
On the third day of GIFT GUIDES, Jenny gave to me, a list from her daughter Gracie!
I’m not saying I’d pick these out for myself, but here is the detailed and very specific list my 19-year-old, college sophomore gave to me to ensure I pick out exactly what is trending for teen girls. To preface the preferences on this list, Grace is an Honor Roll students who cheered and ran track in high school. She enjoys the beach, music festivals and is very active in her sorority, ZTA, at UCF. There are also several items off the teen boy list that she would like but for the sake of creating “mini lists,” I asked my teenage son to create a separate list for what he would like as well.
1. Adidas UltraBoost DNA running shoes in WHITE - Still as popular as they were last year, the all white Ultraboost still seem to be the sneaker of choice for teenage athletes and college girls.
2. lululemon clothing - There is a very specific list of this one that includes the 6” high-waisted biker shorts, the Unlimit high rise leggings (also mom’s favorite), the Scuba Oversized 1/2 hoodie, the Align tank, the All Yours tank and Like a Cloud bra. This list was also approved by her three roommates.
3. Steve Madden Darlin Pink Heels - When asked why these were on the list, “I don’t know. Girls just like them. They’re cute and fun.” There you have it.
4. Stoney Clover Lane personalized bags - These high end bags are really popular due to their rainbow color selection, high quality, heavy duty carrying capacity and personalized options. Grace uses the large duffle, large classic pouch and mini pouch (for charging cords) the most.
5. Bauble Bar - Girls are big fans of the Pisa stackable bracelets, the name necklaces and the personalized phone cases. Note that orders have to be in by November 15 to arrive by Christmas and that’s cutting it close. Try code EARLYBIRD for 20% off.
6. Apple Watch 7 Series in WHITE - The new Apple watch has a larger screen and more fitness features. Its easier to read and SEE! The display was completely re‑engineered, reducing the borders by 40%, which allows for nearly 20% more screen area than Series 6 and over 50% more screen area than Series 3.
7. Purseption Clear Bags - These high-quality, clear purses are the essential choice for game days and concerts. Two childhood friends, Laura Beth and Brittany, started the line in 2016 when they couldn’t find stylish, clear bags for game days. I love the Milly; Grace loves the Krista.
8. Abercrombie 90’s Ultra High Rise Straight Jeans (also in plus) - What we wore in high school is now back in style again! These popular jeans come both in standard and “Curve Love” options. True to size.
9. Moonlight Shorts Pajama Set - Under $50, this set is trending with teenage girls. Available in XXS-2XL, this shorty pajama set style is borrowed from the boys and updated in a temptingly soft and lightweight knit. (PJ sets typically sell out quickly.)
10. Retro Smiley Face Slippers - Available in multiple colors, these are lined with soft wool. The smiley face slippers have non-slip soles, so you can safely wear them on wooden or tiled floors. They are fully machine washable and won't shrink!
11. Silicone Hair Clips - These popular Amazon finds went viral over the summer and as an everyday user of these clips myself, I have to admit they are really great! Perfect for stocking stuffers.
12. Glossier Perfume and Glossier Bomb Dot Com Lip Balm - When asked what this perfume smells like, Grace said, “It smells like high class.” With a giggle, she went on to explain its a “clean scent that all girls will like.” (There’s only one scent available so the link is what is popular.) She also added that she wears the lip balm at night before she goes to bed /on days when she doesn’t wear makeup and “my lips get super hydrated quickly.”
13. Dior Lip Glow in RASPBERRY - This is a very natural lip look for teens and adults. I actually wear the Light Pink but Grace loves the Raspberry.
14. Alexa Dot 4th Generation - The sleek, NEW compact design delivers crisp vocals and balanced bass for full sound. Voice control your entertainment: Stream songs from Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, SiriusXM, and others. Play music, audiobooks, and podcasts throughout your home with multi-room music. Ask Alexa to tell a joke, play music, answer questions, play the news, check the weather, set alarms, and more. Use your voice to turn on lights and CALL MOM simply by asking Alexa to do so. (My little kids without phones do this all of the time.)
15. Tarte Makeup - This is my favorite line for teen girls because its natural, vegan, cruelty free and NATURAL! You can also use code JENNY15 to get 15% off your purchase. Grace and I recommend these products: In Bloom Eyeshadow palette , Shape Tape concealer (we like Light Neutral and Light Sand), Babassu sponge (best sponge you will ever use), Foundcealer (concealer and foundation in one but lightweight), Lights Camera Lashes Mascara and their holiday gift brush set. The Maracuja lip duos are also a natural lip shine with a hint of color that we love for young faces. For the full face, add the Amazonian Clay Cheek Set (and split the set between mother and daughter.)
16. Sorbus Makeup/Jewelry Case - I’ve shared this case multiple times on my Instagram…love it for the average makeup collection. Keep your makeup collection neatly organized in one place with the help of this spacious, seven-drawer storage case.
17. Boho Room Makeover - Boho Bedding - Grace’s boho college dorm and first apartment both went viral for its youthful but elevated style. We love Urban Outfitter’s white, tufted dot duvet cover for the look in both rooms. Made in a crisp cotton weave with fluffy, tufted dot embroidery along bottom edge, fully backed with flat cotton sheeting that's so soft against skin. Finished with hidden-button closure along edge for easy removal to throw in the wash. Its on SALE now! Both rooms are linked above with specifics from rugs to lamps to accent pillows.
18. Concert tickets - Send your daughter to her favorite concert and buy a ticket for a friend to go with her. We have a long history of gifting Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber, One Direction and Bonaroo tickets.
19. Pottery Barn Teen Beauty /LED light - Calling all starlets and thespians! Get ready for your close-up with PB Teen’s beauty mirror that takes inspiration from Hollywood movie sets. Designed for flawless makeup application and hairstyling, the touch-activated, dimmable light casts a bright, even glow and acts as a ring light.
20. iFly Suitcase and airline gift card - Surprise the young lady in your life with an iFly rose gold, ombre or white luggage set! Then tuck a Southwest gift card and personalized travel accessories inside.
21. Phone stand holder for desk/nightstand - Help keep the clutter at bay! Suitable for all smartphones and tablets, compatible with iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and all Android phone up to 12.9 inch.
21. Bloom Birth Month Necklace - Give the gift of flowers that will stand the test of time. The Bloom Birth Month Necklace is a new way to give a personalized gift. This would also be a great gift to honor a person that has passed away. Use code JENNYR20 for 20% off.
22. lululemon Easy Access Cross Body Bag - My teenage daughter and I both have these. This cross body bag is perfect for moments when you don’t want to carry or purse….or for the girl who just doesn’t like a purse and only needs the basics. Avoid those where-did-I-put-my-phone moments…this is easy to carry, doubles as a belt bag, fits your phone , a small wallet, chapstick and passport. College girls use these as well as the high school athlete. I recently used this on our drip to Disney and it was PERFECT!
23. Abercrombie coats - Top suggestions from Grace… the Short Stretch Puffer, the Lightweight Packable Puffer (under $100) and the Faux Fur Mini Puffers.
